Again, not sure how Canada does it.  You might have sites like Zillow that would break it down for you.  Look for legit real estate sites for Canada.  Or, call a local realtor?

for any canadians running into a similar issue...... use https://www.realtor.ca/ ♥♥

In the coming year I plan to move out along with my brother, but we HAVE NO IDEA where to look for say; apartments or townhouses, ect! (flat out googling it was inconclusive)  Where does one find potential places to live, serious question. School can teach me to calculate the point of intersection between two lines, and to solve the vertex of a parabola, yet they dont mention living/ taxes even! Please help!

Ps I live in the greater Toronto area in Ontario

Thanks,

Bryan!

That depends on a few factors.  Like do you have pets?  How much space do you or both need?  Also, depends on how much you plan to spend as well.  Not sure if Canada does the safety deposit thing.  An American probably isn't the best to advise you, though. So, you might want to ask a Canada especially one from there.

where does one find potential places to scope out though ?

Just as an FYI, this will not show the majority of Rental Apartment buildings - but rather, individuals who own a condo or house and are renting it out.

Still not a bad resource, but far from the only, or best, to use.

You need to search Apartment Aggregation sites, like these:

https://www.padmapper.com/apartments/toronto-on

https://www.kijiji.ca/b-apartments-condos/gta-greater-toronto-area/c37l1700272

https://www.torontorentals.com/

http://www.viewit.ca/

https://www.rentboard.ca/rentals/index.aspx?locid=10

https://4rent.ca/Ontario-Apartments-for-Rent-60/listing/

etc

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

Actually, in Ontario, Canada, our rental law, called the 'Residential Tenancy Act' includes text that renders any 'No Pets' clause in a lease to be null and void.  In short, you're under no obligation to reveal that you have pets, you can't be evicted or punished for having pets, and you can sign a big clause in all red font on your lease that says 'I AGREE NOT TO KEEP PETS' and it doesn't matter, you can have pets.  ...Unless the kind of animal is forbidden by the municipality, and if your pet causes disturbances, noise, or damage, you can still be held responsible and risk eviction if you can't solve the problem.
