Graphics Card Dead?

Hey, so my when my gpu is plugged in it displays the wrong resolution but if I try to change it in the nvidia settings it says display not connected to nvidia graphics card and I  also get code 43 from windows. The people at Dino PC say that I have a dead card and its out of warranty but if its still displaying an image is it dead?

Are the drivers installed and up to date?

Is the cable going into the gpu and not the motherboard?

Yup I've tried reinstalling them and using an older version and most up to date
