Just wondering what the owners of x299 mobos have to say about their experience with the vrm temps when overclocking. Im at the point where the only thing missing for my new build is the mobo but the vrm temps are bugging me so I dont know which one to pick. The apex is only going to release in a month, maybe more, so does the evga dark.

If you use your 7900x to run Prime95 (AVX) with very aggressive bios settings (clocks and current limits) you can probably get any of the VRMs to overheat.

Properly setup and in real life usage, you most likely will never have VRM temp issues.

After 2 hrs of Realbench at 4.8GHz with my 7820x did not get the VRM over 70c.  That is with a Gigabyte Gaming 7.  It and the Gaming 9 have probably the best VRM cooling setup out of the current boards.  The new Apex VRM cooling setup is VERY similar.

i9-9900k @ 5.1GHz || EVGA 3080 ti FTW3 EK Cooled || EVGA z390 Dark || G.Skill TridentZ 32gb 4000MHz C16

Which has the best vrm cooling, gaming 7 or gaming 9? I heard gaming 7 has like an extra cooling in the back but the gaming 9 has copper plated stuff?
