extreme mouse stutter

My beloved NAOS 7000 has been stuttering a lot lately and I don't know why. I thought it was my mouse pad, but it only happens intermittently. Then I though my DPI was too low (450), but I used to run it at stuff as low as 400 no issue. Why is this happening?

A hair got into the opening for my mouse's sensor and caused something similar a while ago. So check that and maybe take some canned air to the sensor area. Otherwise I'm not sure.

I did have to take it apart to get some water out, but this only started a few days ago.
