Does anyone know if it is possible to have my old xbox 360 run windows, or a type of linux?

why would you want to the xbox only has 512mb of ram , dumpsterdive a faster machine

The 360 is faster running it's own operating system and games it's been optimized for

case and point , as a 360 it can play gta 5 , as a pc running windows or linux , it's several gigs of ram to short to play it

No... If you have 8gb ram and an 8gb gpu youre saying youd have 16 gb.

the system has 512mb of ram. that's not incorrect.

The gpu uses the system ram when it needs it. but just because the gpu can access the ram doesn't mean the system magically now doesn't still have 512mb of ram.

the system always has 512mb of ram , the gpu can use either a ton of that ram playing a 1080p game , or use 4mb of that ram sitting on the dashboard doing nothing at all. Doesn't matter

i wanted to see if i could run a lan game server on it so i wouldnt have to run it on my actual computer

Your computer will run it faster than the 360

Even if the 360 could run windows lets say , you'd have a circa 2005 computer with barely any ram trying to run a game server that your modern pc can run in the background faster while not breaking a sweat.
