Looking for an audio upgrade.

Go to solution Solved by Dalitten,

I got the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80ohm version about 2 weeks ago. I don't use a DAC, just straight from the onboard on my PC and works great, I can even use my phone if i want to. I am really impressed! I am no audio guru, but I do play alot of games and music and these ARE AWESOME! I am easily able to hear footsteps alot easier now, but also other small details in games.(Cars, gunshots).

They also have some sound dempening, they sit thight to your head, but that doesnt make it uncomfortable. I have a decently load PC and with these on i can barely hear it.

I am using this with a dedicated microphone. (Blue snowball Ice)

I have not tried the HyperX but since you allready have a microphone, I would probably go for the DT 770 since they are a higher quality pair of headphones if you really appriciate good sound. Your choice :)

Hey whoever is reading this, I'm from the UK and currently stuck with Plantronics Gamecom 380s because I needed a very cheap headphone/microphone solution but I now have a studio microphone so I kind of want to up the listening experience a little bit. I'd be using these for listening to music but also playing games so I need a little bit of balance if that isn't too much to ask for. I'd probably be using these headphones for long periods of times and I have a huge head so if somebody could help me that would be amazing.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Budget is pretty much <£100 - closed back would be a bonus and I don't need/want a headset with a microphone.

It really depends on your budget. Do you know if you want open or closed back?

Closed back

Mid - Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO
High - Sennheiser HD 630VB

Open back
Low - Samson SR850
Mid - AKG K702
High - Sennheiser HD 650

...And yes, I am a big Sennheiser fan.

Sorry, I completely forgot to add that as I was brainstorming what I needed to be specific about, the budget is pretty much £100 and less.

The Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO headphones are currently £110 on Amazon. They have tonnes of great reviews you can read there that might convince you to part with that extra £10 ;)

Yeah I don't really mind an extra tenner so I'll take a look thanks
