Should I mine?

So I do not really know anything about bitcoin/litecoin. Do you think it would be worth mining for me. I do NOT pay for power so that is not an issue. I would be mining on my only computer (in sig).

yes of course :) you can start and stop at will, only thing is though, that card isn't really the best for mining. AMD cards are generally better but since you won't be paying power bills i guess it doesn't really matter?

Look at the kh/s rates.

https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison

As you can see, the GTX 780 gets 320kh/s at stock and the AMD 5850 can crank out more kh/s (341kh/s). A $200 7950 can crank out 700kh/s. I'd recommend getting multiple cheap AMD graphics cards to mine. You'll get a lot more mining done that way.

Well then. That is crazy. But can the nvidia and AMD drivers be installed and running at the same time without any problems though? Cuz I could get a new GPU on black friday/cyber monday.

It's alright, according to the calculator, you should be mining ~6 LTC per month at the current difficulty. At the current value of litecoin that equates to about $243 per month.

But is that mining 24hrs a day? Cuz I would probably be able to for about 9hrs...

I'm pretty sure you could run them on the same system. I've seen AMD GPU users take lower end NVIDIA cards and run them simultaneously to do the PhysX work. I'm pretty sure you can run the GTX 780 as the main GPU and the AMD card as a miner, but I'm not sure if you can mine and game at the same time.

If you mine 9 hours a day, that equates to about $95 per month.

Oh yeah that is true. If its not using and CPU usage, then I would think that I could play at the same time.

OK so that is still about 1100 a year and that is still fine with me.
