Apple Xserve - PCI-e

Hey guys,

 

i am using a apple xserve 2,1 I have a problem it only has 1 PCI-e Slot and PCI-X slot.

 

Is there away i can increase the number of PCI-E slots to i can run a ATI 1300x and I raid control card?

Only way would be to use a PCIe riser card in the only slot that has two Add-In card slots then use PCIe ribbon cables to the devices. Bandwidth won't be great though and you might limit one or both devices.

 

What about using a PCI-X raid card? I know they are really old but the last gen one's weren't too bad.

I managed to get the riser card and everything is working fine....

 

PCI-X trying to find cards here in NZ was to painful!
