I need a program for writing html. I started learning it and need something more than notepad so i can try to help my dad with his website. I need it to be free but i might be able to get dreamweaver though my dad at some point.
 Any help is appreciated.

Notepad++ is probably the best free start-from-scratch software out there, but for WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get) there's millions of things out there. Dreamweaver works well enough, so does Wordpress to some extent or, even, Linus' sponsor... SquareSpace. I'm sure you'll see even more suggestions, I've always found free templates online and edited those to what I wanted.

The install doesn't come with any bloatware, it does ask if you want to buy it but you can just say "No" *look innocent* lol. It seems to do most, if not almost all the things that dreamweaver can do. I am not a "pro" web designer but from a little basic coding and messing around. It seems to do the job fine. I am not sure if it supports flash on the free edition, but I think the "full" edition does.
