I have a 120gb SSD and I am thinking of upgrading to a 240gb SSD. I was researching SSDs when the thought crossed my mind to try a RAID array. The thing is, my current 120gb SSD (SanDisk SSD Plus or something) would be older than the newer one I'm getting so I am worried that if I do make a RAID array with the two drives, one would fail before the other and cause data loss. So would it be worth it to buy another 120gb SSD or just spend like $20 more for a 240gb SSD?
Also, I was looking at some M.2 SSDs, such as WD's Blue lineup and I was wondering if they came with screws to install with. I know my motherboard has a M.2 slot and supports 10gbps connections, so a SATA M.2 SSD such as WD's blue 250gb would work. I am just worried that I wouldn't have the mounting screw. Especially since I bought the mobo I have used.

drive failure this is ALWAYS a possible scenario no matter how old the drives are. the only reason to go RAID 0 is speed

you should always have your important data backed up to a seperate drive anyways.

if the speed of a single SSD is good enough for you then get the bigger drive and maybe use the smaller drive to upgrade a second PC. (or backup that important data on it ;)

getting a sata m.2 SSD does not make much sense - it won't be faster than a regular 2.5" sata SSD.

as far as the M.2 SSD goes, I'd get it so I dont have to get another sata cable. plus it is smaller than a 2.5" SSD
