So I purchased a new microphone not that long ago, the Anthlion ModMic. It arrived and I unpacked it set it up and just started using it. I was playing Overwatch and using the mic expecting everything to be fine but that was not the case. Other people started saying that they can't hear me or that I was way too quiet. Made a Skype test call and the sound is really low. Tried raising the volume of the mic in windows but it didn't help a lot. I'm thinking that this is a problem with the fact that my Motherboard (MSI A78M-E35) is pretty old and doesn't provide enough power for the ModMic. What I want to know is if I need an AMP/DAC for the microphone or a USB sound card to raise the volume? I'm planning a new build in about 2-3 weeks so maybe the new motherboard (MSI B350 PC MATE) will be enough to power the ModMic?

I also had this issue with my modmic. I picked up one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0018DK9TA/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1500802271&sr=8-3&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Logilink+USB+sound&dpPl=1&dpID=41N8qpeqwdL&ref=plSrch

Solved my issue, obviously only plugging the mic into that. I've heard you can just get one of the 5$ ones on Amazon and those should be fine, but I haven't tried that myself.
