So I've had a really strange issue since I built my new PC. When using anything that uses the internet, every 10-20 it will freeze whatever I'm doing for 10-20 seconds. Discord will crash and restart, PUBG freezes and goes back to the 'Network Lag Detected' screen, and BF1 will just kick me from the server. I didn't have this issue with my previous PC, and I haven't changed anything about the router.

My current specs:

  • Mobo: Crosshair VI Hero
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 1700x
  • Cooler: NZXT Kraken x52
  • GPU: EVGA 1070 FTW
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8 16GB 3000MHz

I have all the latest drivers, and Windows 10 Pro 64bit, and an ETHERNET connection.

Nasty...

I would try 3 things:

Router:

- I'm sure you've ruled out the router, but I'd have a second device (like a smartphone) run a pingtest next to the computer. If the device doesn't show the same issues, ...

NIC driver:

- I'd reinstall the MoBo NIC drivers, maybe go back a version if that is available.

NIC itself:

- It's $12 on Amazon for a USB to ethernet adapter.

I'm really sorry, i forgot to mention it's with an ethernet connection. I have the version w/o WiFi. Could it be the Intel LAN Drivers?

Router, the UTP cable, the RJ45 port on the MoBo, the intel driver, windows, firewall/AV, malware...

You're not using Bitdefender by any chance? Screws with ipv6 connectivity...

I'm not using Bitdefender, and I've ruled out anything that isn't the computer. I've tried different cables. I didn't install any antimalware until after i noticed the issue. It's either the drivers or deffective hardware.

How would that solve anything? That seems like it's just ethernet with an extra step.
