Hi everyone,

I was wondering which settings in need to switch to get less CPU usage in The Witcher 3. My i5-7600K not overclocked uses 90% at most. With which settings can I reduce this?

Or is there some add thing with the witcher? Because when I switch to task manager the usage goes from 100 to 70

My other question is will overclocking the CPU will reduce this? If so how much?

Thanks!

Other than trying to reduce the amount of things on screen at once, there's little else you can do. Because then you'd have to poke into the actual game mechanics and I'm not sure if you can disable the daily lives of people. :B

90% CPU usage is not a problem by itself unless it correlates with low GPU usage and poor performance, which is unclear from your post. If you ignore the CPU usage percentage, are you still unhappy with how the game is actually running?

I doubt there's much you can adjust in the settings to significantly reduce CPU usage. Visual effects are typically part of the GPU's workload, and while occasionally the CPU may be involved there probably aren't many such effects in that game. In fact, turning GPU-reliant settings down may increase your framerate and cause your CPU to stay at a higher workload more often.
