Ryzen build, cant decide on case, cooling and possibly parts

Raldo94

1. Budget & Location

2500-3000 usd inc tax (25%), my location is in Sweden

2. Aim

Gaming AAA, some VR and some indie titles, software development (C#, VMs, database servers and alot of other stuff)

3. Monitors

I have one at 2560x1440 @ 145hz but i'm thinking i might buy another one / use one older that i have

4. Why are you upgrading?

Will be used for an second location on the weekdays, so i need another build

So far i have come up with https://pcpartpicker.com/list/yL67jc

I have not decided on what type of cooling i'm going to use or what kind of case, could go as far as 200$ in cooling

I'm looking to an smaller type of case or maybe horizontal or possible compromise on the parts used to achieve that.

If i where to go with water cooling i do not really want to have my first go on that on this system, so nothing advanced

Thanks.

Robin

I would personally just wait before buying your gpu because of the influx of prices, and i think it would be beneficial and cheaper in some cases to get quad channel ram

The 1080 Ti isn't really affected because it uses GDDR5X which isn't very good for mining ;)

Yeh, the ssd might not be needed but the cpu? It looks like an big difference in single core performance, how oc'able is the 1700 vs 1800x?

Also you can get windows for like 80% off from kinguin.

Read that some people got their licenses revoked within almost an year, so i might roll with it and buy one from MS if it gets revoked
