Hey guys,

I have been having a super annoying problem with both programs. I'll start with xsplit, does drop any frames during the recording, doesn't cause gameplay to lag or anything. Work perfectly until I attempt to play back the footage.  Seems to do it to dx12 games more so the dx11 or older. But the okay back the audio stays normal but the footage will either speed right up, or freeze on the last frame for the entire length of the video.

With obs, it's a little different it uses over 50% of CPU or GPU  and causing game to statter. And lag and doesn't matter what directX  version it is.

Now the problem is. I have been using these program in the past for a long time without any issues with both.

Pc specs:

Intel i7 6700k @4.5

16gig  2400mhz

2x Samsung SSD  (1x 850 evo m.2, 1x 840 evo)

1× Kingston uv400 ssd

2x we blue 2tb

Gigabytes G1 Gaming 1070.

I don't really want to reinstall the OS just to test to see if it's that

Side question. Have anyone used a second gpu for xsplit/obs  to encode. Or does it have to be on the main gpu?

Edit: I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs multiple times,  and recording settings for local are 4k  59.94fps, 40000 bitrate, mp4.  And streaming 720p at 59.94fos 3500bitrate

That's for both programs. Now it can't even handle 360p at 30
