Help: Ethernet has no valid ip config :(

Go to solution Solved by 2FOX,

I went out and got a new cable. Problem Solved. Thanks for all the help guys.

Hey guys, I can't connect to the internet. I have had this error msg yesterday. All other devices worked on wifi. My desktop is wired.  I reset my router and it worked. For a while. Last night it stopped working and hasnt worked since. I reset my router. Followed a few methods to fix the problem I found on google. I went and got a cheap wireless adapter. Now I have net. Any way I can fix the LAN issue. Do I have to change the LAN card?

Ty

Try the following in CMD:

EDIT: Also, download the latest drivers for your NIC and clean install them. I'd go directly to the manufacturer's site, not your motherboard's site (if you're using the onboard LAN)

ipconfig /flushdns

ipconfig /release

ipconfig /renew

Are you using the onboard NIC or a PCIe NIC?

PC Specs?

Image of the message being seen?

Picture of your NIC config?

First see where the fault lies. If the cable is the culprit. Or the routers DHCP, or the ethernet jack on the router/computer.

and configure a static ip to your computer, I always configure permanent devices in my home with static IPs. DHCP I only use for guest devices and wifi.

Main System:

I installed the drivers. I rolled back to the prev drivers and installed the new ones. I guess that's what u mean by clean install. I tried the codes. Didnt do nothing I'm afraid.

Edit: I uploaded the screenshot of the results

onboard. MSi z87 g45 i believe is my motherboard. Killer e2200 is the model of the NIC.

I see the lights flickering on both ends of the ethernet jack. Hard for me to check if the cable is the culprit as I don't have a laptop to compare it to. I'll see if I can do anything. Problem is I can't config any ip :(

It may sound harsh, but you should learn how to do that =)

The windows network diagnostics might not help there... You have to put in the ip address manually.

Right click on the interface under the adapter list and disable and re-enable it.

If you right click on the Adapter and click Properties then find Internet Protocol Version 4 in the list, click on that then click properties.

Set the radial buttons to manual for both sections.

In the top section put in the following values

192.168.0.50

255.255.255.0

192.168.0.1

and in the DNS section (bottom) put in:

8.8.8.8

8.8.4.4
