Reservoir required?

I have a 6700k cpu and x1 1070 and planning to water cool them in the future. I am planning  to have a separate loop for each CPU and GPU with a 240 or each so my question is do I need a reservoir for each loop? thanks.

There's no point in doing separate looks unless you're specifically doing it to add loop complication in order to fill a huge case and improve aesthetics.

If they are two completely separate loops, then yes.  But if you pipe them in the same loop, then no.  You can do this by hooking up the output of the pump to the intake of rad 1, then the output of rad 1 goes to the input of rad 2.  The output of rad 2 goes to the input of the reservoir and you then complete the loop by connecting the output of the reservoir to the input of the pump.

Just remember, what goes out must go in.

Multiple loops add cost.

You don't need a res at all, just easier to bleed and safer to run. Ran my main rig without one for quite some time. I use a t fitting with a small piece of tubing which acts as a res.

Spare RIg Lian Li O11 AIR MINI, I7 4790K, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, G.Skill Ares 2400 32Gb, EVGA 1080ti, 1080sc 1070sc & 1060 SSC, EVGA 850GA, Acer KG251Q 1920x1080@240hz

@WhiteHoody

You can use two pumps with one reservoir but it would still be one loop and not two, so seeing as your sobriquet is WhiteHoody, you need to figure out if you want a dual loop with two reservoirs and two pumps or a single loop with one reservoir and two pumps.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
