Hello, my name is Shane. I’m from Ireland and I have a ram question for you. I have two 2 GB ram chips and two 4 GB ram chips.

They are all the same brand, speed and latency. My motherboard has 4 ram slots, 2 banks of 2.

What order should I put the ram in the memory banks?

My guess would be a 2 GB and a 4 GB in each memory bank.

Kingston 4GB PC3-10600 1333Mhz CL 9 x2 and

Kingston 2GB PC3-10600 1333Mhz CL 9 x2

Motherboard: Asus Crosshair IV Formula

Yes that would work. You end up with 12gb of RAM. I had a setup like that running on that board for a while. (not same modules though ofc)

Yep, just reiterating what Windspeed36 and Ghost have said. With your 2x4GB sticks, put them in the same colour coded DIMM slots ( red or black ), then with your 2x2GB sticks, put those in the other colour ( red or black depending on what colour you chose for your 4GB sticks).

If, for example i chose to put my 4GB RAM in the black slots, the set up ( reading from left to right ) would be: 2GB - 4GB - 2GB - 4GB.
