Alright, I caved in. I'm getting a streaming PC. I need recommendations for a couple for it. I plan on streaming at 1080p60 in the future, but for now, 720p30. I want to be able to stream at 20000kbps and really crank the encoding settings to make it look better. I don't need a ryzen recommendation, I know that they're there. I need an i7 recommendation because a lot of them are out cheap and secondhand (if I were buying brand new I'd probably go ryzen).

Eg. Place in Australia has a Dell PC thing with an i7 860 or something for like $250. That's a whole PC. Would a first gen i7 be any good for that? I assumed that there wouldn't be that much of a gap between that and a 4th gen i7 for streaming.

Well, if you're going used a Haswell LGA1150 i7 like a 4790 is probably your best bet, since it's fairley modern and you can get inexpensive new motherboards for it.

Ryzen is nice if you're a tinkerer (which is why I love ryzen) but if not, I advise you stay away this generation.

4h to 7th gen is actually a pretty large gap but Luke streamed with a 2600k so i would go with that or higher

4th gen to 7th gen is a big gap. But I don't think it's a very big gap streaming wise. Like sure it has ipc gains (even though the 4790k is better than the 6700k...)

I'm not buying current gen. Like I said in my post, I'm not buying ryzen and I'm not buying new. Ryzen doesn't have integrated graphics (the thing that I need) and I would get ryzen if I was getting brand new (which I don't see point in)

I'd look for seperate parts, rather than looking for a PC.

If you want to have a set that's both cheap and capable in streaming then it's the FX 8xxx/9xxx. More than enough cores for streaming, cheap to buy and a very capable heater as well, though is significantly worse in games.

Which services are going to use? Twitch won't allow anything above 3500kbps,  20000kbps is way too much

Thank you all for your suggestions!

I actually ended finding a Xeon E3 1230 V3 (4770 equivalent) with a motherboard, kraken x61 and 16gb of ram for $390. A fucking bargain

I know what you're gonna say though, there's no onboard graphics! Not to worry, my friend has a passive cooled gtx 950. Meaning that there will be no noise increase
