Hi.

I am gaming on a i7 5820K @4,4Ghz CPU today, with a GTX 1080 TI GPU. But i want to turn my 5820K rig into a pure Plex server/streaming PC.

So what should i game on? I have a PC with a i5 6600K @4,6Ghz i could use(This is my Plex server today), Would it be faster in a gaming only rig, or will it bottleneck my GTX 1080 TI?

Or should i get a new rig with a i7 7700K for gaming, or is the i5 6600K fast enough?

6600k is good enough for pure gaming.. keep it and wait for a few generations more to upgrade.

6600k will bottleneck some cpu intensive game. But not a big deal if you dont do much multitasking behind.

Edit: If you absolutely need to spend something now, then get a 7700k. Assuming you have a z170 board, and aware of the bios update.
