So I'm building a  PC and I since I have no clue about PC connecting, I was wondering do I need a wifi card. I could use ethernet but the modem is far away. My wall has an Ethernet port but I don't know if it connects to my modem. So how can i connect my PC?

Find out if that RJ45 jack connects to your router. You do have a router right, not just a modem?

I am 99.8654782% sure than your motherboard has an ethernet RJ45 port which is the standard for networking unless you have a very expensive enterprise grade modem. Don't use a wifi card. They are slow. It's worth it to take the extra time and route the cable for a ton  more speeds.

I highly doubt it connects to the router but if you give info on where the router is and a pic of the outlet and where it leads i might be able to help.
