Here is the latest version of my PC.

 

specs:

CPU: i7 2700k @4.5GHz

Mobo: asus p8z68-v pro/gen3

Ram: 16gb 

GPU: GTX 1060 6gb

storage: 256gb ssd 1tb hdd

PSU: Corsair rm750i

CPU cooler: Be Quiet! shadowrock 2

case: Fractal Design Define C

misc: Cable mod fully sleeved cables

 

cpu has lasted well and continues to get in the 780's on cinebench r15 and presents minimal if any bottle necking especially compared to the i3 I previously had. bought the i7 off a friend for $150 with mobo cpu ram and an extra psu. Was running haswell i3 before and could not be happier with how it turned out. I'm looking at adding rgb LEDs to spice things up a bit in the future.

By looking at it I'm so worried of the CPU cooler crushing the graphics card under it....

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

I've had the cooler for over 2 years and it's never been a problem. I've also never heard of any coolers falling on GPUs unless they were installed wrong. It's bolted through the mother board and if that would fail I believe the mobo would have to break. It's not a big problem and is really solidly bolted to the mobo.

Just saying based on its appearance. don't take it so seriously. It looks like a big cube of steel that can smash the graphics card underneath to pieces.
