What exactly are you confused about? The cash back rewards?

Basically, it works as follows:

1. Any purchases you make on Amazon.com earn you 5% "back". So if, over a year, you spend $5000 on Amazon.com, Amazon will "pay you" $250.

2. Any purchases made at restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores earn you 2% cash back - same as above. If you spend $5000 over a year at these types of establishments, they'll pay you $100.

3. Same as above, with a 1% return on all other purchases. If you spend $5000 a year on all other purchases, you'll get $50 back.

Not every restaurant or gas station will be in their system as a certain category though, so you may need to call them to get the cash back if it's not automatic for a specific place you shopped at.

How they pay you in Cash Back rewards differs per credit card. Some will give you a store credit, others will just apply the rewards to your balance, and others will actually straight up issue you a cheque that you can cash at your bank.
