Hi,

I am a games development student who is soon to be in Spain to study and I was wondering what would be my best options when it comes to a laptop.

I am currently employed as Game Developer and am hoping to keep on some work when I am abroad for both money and experience.

I work 2 jobs now so my budget would be in around £1,700 / £1,800 at a stretch but preferably less.

I'd like a more portable laptop due to travel to uni and for the flights/trains/buses I'll be getting.

I've been looking at the Dell XPS Range, Razer Blades and even the Alienware (But I know their battery may not be up for what I want)

Just wondering what would be some advice on what may suit.

Thanks

normally i'd suggest the alienware 13/15 due to portability and thunderbolt 3 but the AGA is a disappointment if you are a developer because dell set it to disable onboard GPU if you connect the AGA. Alienware with standard 60 hz ips screen and 99whr battery can get you 10 hours of portable battery life while working with a few advance tweaks from my experience. (CPU usage 3W, IGP <1W, 6W for everything else)

So go with the other laptops if the ability to add another GPU isnt important for you.
