Battery indicator flashing

Hi there! After I got home I noticed that my laptop's battery indicator was flashing from green to orange (same thing with it unplugged)I searched on the internet but nothing.... The laptop model is Asus X54H I have it since 2011 and this is the first time it happens.

That flashing green/orange LED is usually a notification of a charging problem.

1) Does the battery feel hot when this occurs? Charging will be stopped by design if the battery is overheating.

2) There could be a problem with your power adapter. If you remove the battery when shut down, can the power adapter alone successfully start the laptop and keep it running when used?

The battery is cold but  I managed to get it out and I held the power button for like 20 seconds and now it doesn't flash anymore
