I am looking to change my build theme colors, however my RAM heatsinks are the wrong color. are ram heatsinks interchangeable? can i just buy the cheapest one on newegg that looks nice and have it work? or is there form factor compatibility i need to be aware of?

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

ram heat sinks are pretty much for show you can literally tear off the heatsinks and it will still work fine

not all RAM chip layouts are the same, aswell as the chips themselves. i wouldn't recommend changing out heatinks.

you could always just plastidip your existing ones tough?

I have had chips pull off the sticks with the heatspreaders. Be careful.
