Is everything compatible?

Go to solution Solved by cyanit,

everything seems fine to me at a first look, but only 500GB ssd? If you plan to keep this PC for 5-20J you will run out of space...
why not get an HDD for additional storage, or just a bigger SSD?

ram should be fine with that cooler

oh and btw where do you live? :)

Hello!

Edit: It's solved. Already ordered and waiting for the parts. If something freaks me out I know where to go. Thanks!

TL;DR: Never built a pc. Is everything compatible? Any thoughs on 3x 140mm fan and 1x 120mm fan positioning for the Corsair 400C Case?

I'm planning my first build and due to parts availability in my country I sticked with this one:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DFcR3F

As you can see, I'm planning to play at 1400p @ 100+Hz for some time. Outside that, I plan to stay with this build for a long time.. 5 years minimum, 20 years max. I don't intend to SLI in the future and when the CPU and GPU cannot deliver anymore I intend to Overclock them.

I checked and re-checked everything I could possibly find to make sure everything is compatible..but, I would very much appreciate second opinions to lower the headache.

Reasons for the parts:

CPU - I need more single thread than multi thread.

CPU Cooler - Not feeling like messing with water cooler and I'm scared of Noctua DH15 weight/size

Thermal Paste - Heck, it's priced amazingly here and seems a good call on reviews/benchmarks.

Mobo - I was between Asus z270G (m-ATX) and the MSI one. Due to price, bigger size (for cooler clearance), better looks I sticked with the MSI Z270 Sli Plus one.

Ram - This is the serial on the shop: CMU16GX4M2C3000C15. It's the best price for the approved ones for that Mobo. It beats 2400Mhz without LEDs in price. Crazy country.

SSD - I realistic don't need more than 500Gb. And if I ever need can always put an HD. Outside that, only found this model of the Samsung EVO available. No 860, no 840. It´s serial is: MZ-75E500B/AM

GPU - EVGA is the only 1080 Ti with 2 years warranty. The SC2 seems more reliable due to sensors (maybe) and fuse to protect.

Case - Personal thing. I loved it. Was between this one and the Air 740 one. But the last one is expensive and doesn't come with filters on bottom/top which increases price. Outside that, the 400C looks perfect for my desk.

PSU - I know it's overkill. But, 650W and 750W Corsair ones are not available. It beats the price on the EVGA ones and has local warranty/RMA.

Fans - I was between 3x Static Pressure 120mm Noctua Fans and 2x 140 Noctua Fans. Sticked with the 140mm ones due to placement on the case (The last 120mm one would be hidden). Planning on put the 2x 140mm ones on the front pulling air in. Keep the 120mm stock fan on the rear pushing air out as well as the included 140mm on the top pushing air out. The cooler Fan I intend to put it pushing the air up or to the back.

Monitor - No brainer. Same specs as the only contender (the asus one) and half the price with local warranty and RMA.

Keyboard - Personal one. Only one that pleases me and my wallet.

Mouse - I have a Logitech G600 and the left click has gone dead. Want something similar, probably bigger, more reliable (Corsair has local RMA, Logitech does not), with side buttons for shortcuts on everyday use and keeping mouse and KB on the same software will be a plus.

I checked everything I could remember for compatibility..

Case is up to ATX Mobo (12" x 9,6") Seems a perfect fit for the MSI Z270.

Ram is QvL approved.

Cooler has no clearance issues on the Mobo and Ram.

PSU..I didn't get how to check this one, but, looking at the back it seems it can fit pretty much anything.

CPU socket is also okay..

Despite all that, I am afraid I might had overlooked something. Any thoughs on compatibility issues, recomendations and Fan position on the case?

Thanks! Any input is appreciated.

Wow. You guys are fast, and awesome.

About the mice. I know how to solve the problem on the Mice. I can just open it up and change the left and right buttons thingy. Or I can also just put the left click on one of the side buttons. But, I think I want this corsair mice really badly.

About the SSD. Oh yeah, I will run out of space. Not right now, tho. I usually like to keep OS, Personal stuff (100Gb tops) and a couple of 50Gb games at the time. Play them till done and delete. Keep things nice and clean. With games increasing in size, tho, I think I will need another SSD..can't go back to HD..

But, my options are: Get a 7200Rpm 1TB HD now.. or a really fast SSD stick next year/whenever I need them. The ones that you stick directly into the Mobo through Pcie. Thing is: This build is already on my limit. I have maybe 20 dollars worth of improvements right now. Anything else I would need to switch parts.

I live in Brazil, hence the clumsy english. ^^

This build is around 5000$ here. Still beats import, tax and no local warranty by a slim margin.

Thanks for the input, guys!
