I would contact Microsoft support at that point.

I bought a real product key for windows 10 home and I have had it on my pc fully installed activated and working fine. I decided for some reason to enter a windows 10 pro key from some website thinking maybe it would give me a free upgrade. Now I'm stuck with this. I just want my normal Win 10 Home with activation.

If 'change product key'  doesn't work you'll have to reinstall Windows.

Does you mum know you're here?

Do you still have the old/previous key?

I have the key on the paper right here right now.

doing a clean install of windows 10 home should work, since the old key should still be bound to the motherboard. but have you tried that troubleshoot option already? sometimes that actualy works

What happens when you click on the change product key and attempt to enter the old one?

I can re-install if that will 100% work, I don't really wanna loose my files or windows setting though.

There a documented Win10 key which is used to convert Home to Pro. It only does the conversion, and isn't an activation licence. Sounds like that might have been used. I'm not aware of a similar key to convert from Pro back to Home. Reinstall might be best option.

Restarting your system didn't make a difference either?

Just restarted right now. Nothing has changed.
