PLEASE HELP

caseyf

so i decided to give my little brother my old gaming pc that i havent used in a few months, i put a new hard drive in it cause the old one is in my current pc since im too lazy to transfer it. the pc boots and goes to bios and everything works, it recognizes the boot device but i CANT GET IT TO START. it just says "reboot and select proper boot device" ive saved and restarted a million times. please help before i blow my brain out

specs: asrock z97 anniversary edition

1tb WD blue

i5-4690

16gb ddr3 hyper x fury 

evga 600b

Make a bootable windows USB key, and boot from that then install windows on the HD

Does the hard drive have Windows on it?

shouldnt it just give me the free trial, it did that when i built my new pc then i later contacted microsoft and got full version

When you buy a hard drive NOTHING comes on it. So you have to make an installer and install it.

No *legal* way to do that sorry. Download the windows 10 installation media creator here, a simple Google search will find it, and it should explain itself

Get a USB, download their tool to make it boot able (just follow the instructions).

No legal ways, and I don't endorse piracy so no there isn't, however the trial is not very limiting at all and it should work until you can buy a product key.

do i just download the thing and leave it on the usb, or should i set it up on my current pc then put it on my brothers?

There is an option when booting with it to use without a key, it will still work fine (Just you *Should* later buy a key, not that that matters).
