Hi,

I have a Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and it has run alot of games very well such as H1Z1 King of The Kill. I want to increase the Core Speed of this CPU without touching Voltage as I dont want a toasted PC. Unfortunately I have Installed it on a OEM Motherboard, a eMachines WMCP61M and has very little info in the BIOS for me to OC it. Am I stuck with a No OC or I can with software or flashing a BIOS Mod?

I highly recommend not trying it at all. OEM motherboards lack features to get a safe overclock to begin with. Nor will they ever support it unless they specifically specify it.

You could flash the BIOS with a modded version, if there exists one though. But this isn't without huge risks. If not done properly or a power outage happens, or the rom is corrupted or what ever, it will brick your motherboard with no way to get it to work again. Most OEM motherboards do not have a dual-bios option in case something goes wrong. Especially the one you have due its age.

Software overclocking is not recommended, and will probably not work at all, though you can try this safely. It either works, or it doesn't. If it works and you go to far, it will simply crash the PC and make it reboot with the original settings. Just don't crank it to high. But the again, nor your CPU or Motherboard has been made with even the slightest overclock in mind. So I highly dis encourage it.
