Will this psu work?

Will this psu work in a PC with a GTX 660 and a 7870k? (It was pulled out of an old prebuilt)14992294807441784039368.thumb.jpg.99c5c6f4c19b0aea0651b9338b0aab79.jpg.8556e8f343dca90ef6341f5daaac60b4.jpg

And bonus question, when a psu doesn't have enough ways to power the system would it just shot down or could it fry something

It's probably going to work. The question is for how long, and I'm going to say for not very, assuming it even has the connections to handle a 960.

It depends on how the PSU dies but usually the system will BSOD before reaching the desktop, especially with a dGPU installed. Take the dGPU out and if the problem goes away then you know you need a new PSU.

A Corsair CX450 would be a solid upgrade over your unit.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

660, and it has a single pcie connector. I was hoping to not have to buy anything else but I guess I might have to.

660s are similar in power draw and heat production. So yes, I would still recommend replacing your unit.
