What can kill a GPU

BobertoEggsalad

I know that this sounds pretty dumb. But latley ever since i have built my first rig, i have been stressed about my GPU. From things down to scratching the back of the PCB with my fingernail, and moving it around in the pcie slot (not agressivly just cm or mm to get it in the right spot so there is no sag). I just would like a definitive list or a list of any kind that could tell me what could kill a GPU. I would just like to be able to turn on my pc and not be scanning every part of the picuture looking for tearing artifacting or worry about a bsod.

Dropping

Scratch the die/crack the die itself

Too much voltage e.g. 230V

200-100000C

Hammer

Sitting on it

Jokes aside

As long as the pcb has no physical damage and you don't remove the cooler, nothing can go really wrong unless it breaks because of a bad component

Edit: especially if you leave it just sitting in the case and dont put it in and out again every day

Just don't drill a hole in the PCB like someone did last year.

From what I've found, VGA cables and doing an Austin (multiple PSU ghetto'd to power a video card).

Because a GPU is a big in comparison to an old Pentium. Seems to be a nuisance and I imagine it doesn't look good either.
