HyperX Cloud Stingers mic not working?

I recently got the HyperX Cloud Stingers. They're pretty damn great for only $50 and they work well with my PS4. Everything works fine on the PS4 mic included. On my PC, however, I can't seem to get the mic to work. At first I was using an old Y Splitter that I got with my old asf astro A40s and they didn't work, so I switch the y splitter with the one included with the HyperX Clouds and it's still not working. I can hear fine through the headphones, and if I get my mic super close to my mouth and say something it IS registered but it apparently sounds horrible not to mention i'd rather not have the mic halfway down my throat.

 

I don't understand what;s wrong here but if anyone has an idea of how to fix it it'd be very appreciated.

 

They are being picked up by my PC btw considering my last comment about being able to speak into the mic but it being super sensitive and gross sounding.
