Hey,

I want to build a Thunderbolt 3 Expansion Box, that should be an eGPU and an expandable storage solution in a single enclosure.

The box should use 2 Thunderbolt Cables one for the GPU and one for storage. It would also be nice if the storage could be accessed over the network.

Requirements:

- GPU that supports 2 4k displays and some light gaming (e.g. Overwatch, ...)

- 12 TB in RAID 5  (maybe with a little SSD Cache)

- Silent case with dust filters and a lot of hard drive bays.

I don't know if such a build is even possible, but it would be the ultimate docking system for my laptop as I prefer always working on the same machine.

Thanks

since its daisychainable you could connect a razer egpu box and a different hard drive storage box on the same cable

Sadly off-the-shelf eGPUs are quite noisy. Aren't there any standalone eGPU boards?

you can always swap the fan out, you can't really just get the boards as there is no formfactor, and the box is cheap.
