Hey, I'm thinking of doing a major upgrade at some point. Below are the parts I currently have and also the ones I'm looking at upgrading to. I plan to play mostly open world games (Bethesda) with mods, also play one MMO (Star Trek Online) and want to get into more e-sports titles (not sure what). I also do content creation for YouTube and might go into streaming down the line. This system is to last at least 5 years as I won't be able to afford an upgrade while at Uni except maybe a GPU. I don't wanna upgrade that right now cause my GTX 960 is good enough. Max Budget is about £350 and I wanna save as much as I can so any cheaper is better. If there's a way to continue using the existing cooler or if the Ryzen cooler is good enough for overclocking then let me know. I plan to OC and I don't wanna go to intel cause I know AMD is better value at the moment.

The cooler seems to be a downgrade from the stock one included with the 1600

Is the cooler in the 1600 good enough to OC?

That build looks fine, I'd rather use the stock cooler though, as well as having 1 x 8GB stick of RAM for upgrades.

The board has 4 dimm slots and I'm unlikely to use more than 16GB ever so could just put in another 2x4GB

Get either a MSI or Asrock B350, looks like they have the best VRMs. ;)

VRM?
