I have a corrupted OS so i have to reinstall windows but theres one problem that happens in the process. Theres no way for me to keep any of my files, it tells me "you cant keep windows settings . personal files and apps because your current version of windows might be installed in a unsupported directory." I talked to people over at Microsoft but those guys are useless they just hung up on me when they didnt know what to do. Im tired of windows trying to update and failing to do so every time i start up my computer.

Unless you can pull the drive out and try to access the files on another machine, I cannot think of a way for you to keep your files. I know that is frustrating as I have been in your situation. Maybe there is a better solution, but I am not sure.

Do you have another drive, internal or external which could fit files you are trying to save? You can use live edition of Linux and backup most of the files. Including user config files for most software and games.
