Paypal invoice vs eBay

Selling a laptop.

If I sent an invoice through Paypal to a buyer, would that be safe enough that I wouldn't need eBay?

 

They seem scammy, and don't want to use eBay... but I mean, if I for the money through invoice, what's the loss?

I mean, if you are the seller, then ship it once they pay for the laptop, what would be risky with that?

a lot can be. 

Make sure you get a direct signature if it's over 205$

That's what I want to know.. Could they charge back the money or something? I really have no idea.

I've ran an Ebay store for years now...

Yathis is exactly right. If they're telling you they "Can't buy it through ebay but can pay with paypal", it's bullshit. There's no reason they can't buy through Ebay. None at all.
