Yesterday I installed a new PSU (Evga SuperNova G3 650w) and a new CPU cooler (Scythe Mugen 5). After that my temps went down and my pc no longer shut itself down with the asus anti-surge protection.

Today I was playing Overwatch when suddenly my pc restarted itself, I was worried that again it would be the anti-surge screen but it wasn't. I didn't get any display at all and I saw that my CPU fan wasn't running but all the other fans were and my GPU was running. So I opened up my case, tried to see if all the cables were pushed in correctly, I reset my CMOS with the jumper and then I tried starting my pc again. It worked but I noticed that a light on the mobo was red. I think it's the boot device led http://imgur.com/a/fdi28B

I would assume that a boot device led would mean that something is wrong with my boot device but my BIOS recognized all of my drives, even my ssd and I was able to boot into Windows. So everything is working correctly now, but I'm wondering if the boot device led means anything and how it's possible that my pc just restarts itself while playing a game and that my cpu suddenly doesn't work for some reason.

specs:

i7-6700K (not overclocked) with Scythe Mugen 5 cpu cooler
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming

16GB DDR4 RAM

MSI GTX 970

EVGA SuperNova G3 650w
Phanteks Eclips P400S

Usually that's a MEM OK! LED that checks and sees if your memory is good. If you want to be a bit paranoid, reset your BIOS to default and reseat your RAM.

Apologies if I am incorrect. That's where my MEM OK! LED is for my x99-Deluxe II.

EDIT: It appears I may be wrong doing a bit more research and not just looking at my LEDs. But I would still perform a BIOS reset and see if it disappears.
