Installing AMD Drivers Cannot detect Graphics Card

Although the graphics card in my laptop is installed, the installation wizard for AMD's display drivers does not detect the graphics card. What should I do?

From your sig, it's a MacBook Pro, right? Are you trying to install them on Mac or Windows in BootCamp.

Hmmm. Doesn't the Apple Bootcamp app thingy include drivers for the GPU?

I was trying to update the drivers, but it said it could not detect the graphics card, so I uninstalled the old AMD drivers to see what would happen.

 

Long story short it didn't detect the graphics card

Can you download the Windows Bootcamp utility from Apple's site? It should include drivers to let the OS recognize the GPU.

This should work, it's for 7 and 8, but even the bootcamp setup assistant only says "for Windows 7 and higher", not specifically 10. Here it is: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1837?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Rats... I can't help much, since I've only got a 13" one with an iGPU.

A disk? If you can reopen the bootcamp assistant (be careful not to remove your partition), you should be able to load the Bootcamp drivers to the USB along with Windows. at least that's what I did.

Awesome!!! Strange I never though of that, but it's perfectly logical for AMD to make Bootcamp drivers...
