Windows boot on 1 stick?

Go to solution Solved by MrJarhead,

of course it will boot on 1 stick, did you try taking that stick out and using the new one you bought by itself? that ram stick could be faulty or not inserted properly.

The first PC I built had one stick of 8GB ram, and I had problems with it, was late and ran over to bestbuy and got another 8 GB stick (I almost cried at the price of cheap bestbuy ram), I put in both sticks and booted up windows just fine.

My question is, I am looking to buy some cheap ram (under $20 from Newegg, they accept bitcoin) and I have a gigabyte b85m-ds3h-a motherboard and was going to buy one stick of 4GB RAM for it (1x4gb), will windows boot on one stick of ram?

My first PC did not like 1 stick and would not load windows (this is why I'm asking).
