First 1000$ Gaming build

Go to solution Solved by The Sloth,

ryzen 1600+ used 970 or 980 i5s are not worth it anymore.

- a bit above your price range- https://pcpartpicker.com/list/wB2fLD, get windows from kinguin

- price range- https://pcpartpicker.com/list/bFQNVY

i would suggest the 1070 build, if you spend extra 52$.

Hi there!

I'm planning to build my first computer for 1080p 60fps gaming and my budget is around 1000$ (it could be a little more)

This is the parts I managed to choose on my own, but I have some doubts:

+ Should I use a I5 7600k or go for a Ryzen processor?

+ Is a gtx 1060 6gb enough?

Any advice is apreciated, I'm not even sure If I choose the motherboard correctly!

That 1060 is way overpriced, it should be $250 at the most. I'd get a 1050 Ti, as it hasn't been inflated from the mining craze, then get a better GPU when Vega drops and the market stabilizes.

Looks good! Though a Ryzen 5 1500X might be cheaper than a i5, and should beat it in minimums and lows, though the i5 will win on the clock speed side. If you're only gaming, and don't need to multitask/stream/etc, then an i5 is fine.

Why? 1600 is better and cheaper.

7600K was never a good value because it is ALWAYS better to save up for a 7700 instead.
