If you want to be faster find an IDE that has autocomplete.  Or just learn to type faster.

When I first started, I was very slow with all the <>, but over time, like Jacky said, it becomes second nature.  Eventually, if someone watches you code, you'll look like a badass because your fingers fly across the keyboard.

Notepad++ has autocomplete/autoclose features I think. (link1, link2)

As does Sublime text editor.

Also, in case you're not from the US, get a US layout keyboard, they are vastly

superior to everything else for programming (save maybe for some rather esoteric

stuff). I switched a few years ago from my native layout and have never looked

back.

Try [brackets]. It's a really new, opensource HTML / CSS / JavaScript editor, which is written in HTML and JavaScript itself.

It provides nice syntax highlighting and auto-complete features, and if you're not happy with that, there are loads of extensions for it - because you write them in JavaScript, too ;-)
