Ok so quick question, I neglected to check to see if my fans work before I installed them to a radiator and now that they're screwed on a hardline computer it would be a pain to remove and swap for new fans but oh well, hopefully it's the PWM Extension card that's faulty...

My question is how do you test a single fan to see if it runs? I have an old spare Power Supply with molex connectors and what seems to be a 4 pin fan connector but I'm not sure. My idea was to get one of the Extension blocks and connect it via molex and SATA for power... But there's no SATA on the PSU... Even so I was able to have power in all my fans on my PC without SATA connected for about 2 weeks until I realized.

probably a floppy power connector

you could bend paperclips to connect 12v (yellow) and ground to your fan and see if it spins up wenn you turn on the PSU

Could you please clarify? I'm not sure if your asking how to test a fan, or if your trying to test a PWM Extension card. If it's just a fan, plug it into any fan connector, and see if it spins. You don't need a PWM connection to see if the fan is functioning.

Best Excuses:

#1(simple) "Well, I never liked that stupid thing anyway!"

#2(complex) "Obviously there was a flaw in the material, probably due to the inadvertent introduction of contaminants during the manufacturing process."

I want to test the fans themselves, but if they work then it's the Extension card

Yeah, that's it! So how exactly do I go about doing this?
