Hi. Recently I´ve build a pc with an 1600, gigabyte gaming k5 x370, corsair 16gb 3200mhz led ram, and the gpu and psu wich I had bough before, an rx 580 armor 8gb and a seasonic s12 II 520w. The new pc is running fine exept for the gpu. In the old system it was quiet, and while gaming it didn´t use to get hot, being in arround 60-70º, but now ass soon as I run a game or a benchmark, the fans start spinning, and in 3-5 minutes it gets really hot, about 75º, and the fans spin at 100% wich is really loud. I wanted a quiet system, and it is exept for the gpu. I don´t know why but it wasn´t like that before. I tried to flash the bios to the latest, reinstall the drivers, and install the windows again from scratch, but untill now nothing worked. I think it could be from the software but I don´t know for sure. I have send an rx 470 gaming x to rma because of coil whine, a sapphire rx480 too, and now this, all in the past 3 months. This card does coil whine too but it doesn´t bother me so I kept it, but now it has this problem.. Can someone please help? Thanks

Did you change your old case? If so, maybe the old case had better airflow or more fans

Anyways, those are some things you can do to help eliminate the heat and noise

1- you can install extra case fans to help with the heat, as well as keep them running at a lower RPM to avoid loud noises.

2- You can also create a custom fan curve on the GPU to avoid the fans running at 100%

3- If heat was still bothering you, you can disassemble the GPU and apply new thermal paste

double check on the PSU as well, it could be the one making the noises, trust me i learned that the hard way... my system is ultra quiet but my PSU screams (:

Is i did. I have a nzxt s340 elite with 3 corsair ml120mm fans. I think it was better air flow than previulsy. Before I had only 2 fans, a 120mm in front for intake and a 80mm in the back. The gpu is new, I don´t want to open it because of the warranty if I send it back. I can create a custom fan curve but its the same. The thing is that it wasn´t like this before. I´ll trie to run the case fans in higher speeds to see if it has anything to do with air flow, but I doubt.

The psu is super quiet but i´ll check to.

Pretty sure its just the thermal paste.

Try to look if they didnt put a warranty sticker on the screw if they did then u are screwed cause u have to rma it.

If they didnt then u can change the thermal paste yourself.

Same thing happened to my Asus strix 480 O8Gb . i just cleaned the fan and plug it back after running benchmark it went from 41'c to 88'c in 2 seconds flat.

But they put the fucking sticker on the screw and i dont want to wait 2 months to rma it just to change the bloody thermal paste so i said fuck it and went yolo on it.

I was right the paste was dry af and then i change it and now idle is 39'c and never goes above 65'c at load.

USE QUOTE SO WE CAN NOTICE U.

Oh man what about if that doesn't solve the issue... I wanted to trie that but is risky... The thing is, of it is from the thermal paste why doesn't that happens before and happens now? I will take the gpu off and take a look a it to see if I can do something.
