Hey i need help with an ASUS laptop.

So the Asus Laptop Model I'm using has a HD Built into it and a slot to add another. The one it has built in only has 28gbs of storage. I added a new HD in it for more room. I restarted the laptop and all my files were gone on the other HD. Most were highly important like assignments and pictures.

Is there any way to recover my files? I removed the new HD so its still running off the old HD and nothing.

Thanks

- Edit

Seems it wasnt the HD that caused the issue. The laptop decided to reinstall windows and deleted most of the stuff. Luckily i can recover most :P

Wait.

So did the old HDD lose files, or the new HDD?

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

This doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But I would recommend running the drive with the missing files in a caddy (or some other connection) to a separate machine and see if the data is still missing, and run a smart test on it, a good program for this is CrytalDisk
