Hi, I recently asked for about laptops, but budget has shrunk due to renovation costs spikes, but I still need a machine and the use scenario hasn't changed either: web browsing, office applications, media comsumption and personal use, gaming is no longer part of the plan.

So I know how to pick parts and build regular systems but I don't know the first thing about barebones except that they don't cost that much and are really small. Use scenario will be as stated earlier, my question is: what's cheaper? a good barebones or a good nuc? I gave a look on amazon and nucs start from 120€ to 5-600. My budget is around that 600€ mark, but if I can get out with 300 it would be great.

The only I/O I need are mouse, keyboard, monitor, printer, speakers, ethernet, also built-in wifi would be sweet.

Thanks!

edit: i was thinking about this https://www.amazon.it/Intel-BOXNUC5PPYH-Mini-HDMI-Graphics/dp/B00XPVQHDU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1498565349&sr=8-2&keywords=intel+nuc - 191€ + ssd + ram + mouse and keyboard

Stay away from the Celeron. I have a 2015 Celeron 1.8ghz quadcore CPU in a laptop and it is crap. It has Intel hd like the one you are looking at and appears similar in spec.

I also have a i7 2.2ghz laptop CPU in a MacBook and it is ok for web browsing.

I don't think I would want less that 2ghz modern Intel regardless if it is i3 or i5 i7 etc.

I don't think Intel hd is very good, I think it cripples performance. The Intel 4000 and Iris are tolerable and can play games.
