Buying new display to use as a "TV"

TrigrH

Looking for a premium 40-45 inch display to use as a TV and watch movies amongst other things.

I was looking at this:

https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Monitors/25plus-inch/63126-BDM4350UC

then found out even though its IPS it has fucking burn in... so NOPE.

Then I saw this one, being a VA it should have nice contast: (the one linus reviewed)

https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Monitors/25plus-inch/66834-BDM4037UW

but its out of my price range.

This seems to be the same thing:

https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Monitors/25plus-inch/68253-C4008VU8

So this is the best option right?

Apparently these VA ones have a bit of ghosting but that shouldn't be an issue for media consumption right?

Also I don't really want PWM.

I don't see much point in getting an actual TV, as you are spending the same money for probably a worse display, since Ill be using it as a monitor anyway (plugging shit into it).

What do you guys think? @Glenwing

Is the price difference between these monitors and a TV that big?

If i would/could buy a new TV right now, i'd probably go OLED though.

it is, and it does. But is burn-in a major concern for you? I don't know how much price difference there is between them, or tv's in your country. But TV's can have a superior display. Monitors are more build for faster display and as true to the source as possible, tv's don't care in a few ms lag to improve display quality by doing some processing before showing the image.
