Laptop ssd upgrade

All SATA is backwards compatible as well as forwards, so you can use a SATA 3 SSD on a SATA 2 connection, but you wouldn't receive anywhere near the max performance gain that that could give you because of the SATA 2 connection, it would be heavily bottlenecked, that being said it would feel a bit faster than your SATA 2 HDD, but it might not be worth the loss in storage due to you only having SATA 2

A SATA SSD is a SATA SSD. Ti will run slower on SATA 2 but Idk the impact on real world performance. Likely it is still worth it depending on how old the laptop is overall. I wouldn'T drop 80 bucks on a laptop thathas a remaining value of 100 bucks :/
