UPS Recommendation?

PSU is 450 watts, looking for something to give me time to shut down my PC.

Just a guy who peaked at building back in the days of the GTX 980. If you see me here, assume i have technical knowledge akin to a committed hobbyist builder back then. If something's changed, you'll need to tell me(nicely plz). I'm probably asking for help with the modern build scene since I have no clue what's going on.

It's not just the wattage of the PSU, What CPU and GPU you have will effect it more. 

(CPU wattage max + GPU wattage max)

ive got an i5-4460 and an r9 280 by gigabyte

I'd go for at least a 600VA rating then. I have 500VA for about the same wattage output and I only get about 3 minutes...

Your system shouldn't go over 400W so something like these would be more than enough and have enough overhead for networking equipment and such.

You should check Eaton or APC refurbished units (usually they're older models with new batteries) if your budget can't handle a brand new unit. Or just buy a working unit with borked batteries and change those.

I'm currently looking at a 700VA Eaton refurb that is half the price of a similar spec new one
