Hey,

I have needed an upgrade for some time now and want to build a PC over the summer. I have put together a list of parts and would gladly except your input. I wanted to go with a 1.5k build but don't have the money.

I got the link to work so I do not want to edit the post. So I will put my question here. What is the difference between the motherboard chipsets. I know 990FX is the best, but that board is 135 USD. Also I have seen the 990X board for 120 USD, dont know it is worth the $25/$40 upgrade to the better chipset.

I am not really thorough about it, but all i can say, the difference would be with the pcie lanes, and the support for sli/xfire configs

i believe the ocing support is also improved in the 990fx, not sure about it

What is the use for this system? Gaming and general use? And what is your budget? I see you said 1.5k but then you stated that you don't have enough money for that budget, so please give an updated budget.

How many extra watts will OC the GPU and CPU take, if any?
